Danish Gambling Authority Increase Efforts in Policing their Licensees

The Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, have taken steps to increase their policing of the marketing of promotional offers provided by licensed operators in the country. Details of which we list below, the areas in particular that Spillemyndigheden will be focusing on.

As with the UK’s Gambling Commission, all promotional offers that appear online that target prospective new players, should link to the full terms and conditions of any said offer. The link used for the terms and conditions should make the  use of  designated text provided by the Danish Gambling Authority.

In addition essential terms attached to any promotion are required to be visible, licensed operators need to ensure that all terms and conditions are written in a way that they can be clearly understood. Furthermore required regulatory information should also be displayed, whether for a promotion or just a straightforward advertisement for a gambling site.

The Danish Gambling Authority formed in 2000, is an executive ministry that operates under the Danish Ministry of Taxation. Their duties involve the issuing of licenses to provide gambling, supervision of gambling operators, and monitoring the gambling industry.
