Introduction

What’s your name and role, and how long have you been with Rightlander.com?

Sunny Yadu, Senior Business Development Manager, joined in February 2021

Can you share a bit about your professional background before joining the company?

I completed my legal qualifications in Liverpool in 2010 and went on to work across a range of law firms, from high street practices through to national firms and a Magic Circle firm. This gave me a strong grounding in legal work, particularly around intellectual property and commercial matters.

In 2010, I joined Lexsynergy, where I moved into the world of online brand protection. In this role, I worked with global businesses to manage and protect their domain portfolios and safeguard their brands against intellectual property risks and emerging cybersecurity threats.

Following the pandemic, I transitioned to a role on the sales team at Rightlander. Here, I’ve had the opportunity to work with leading organisations across the gambling, financial services, and affiliate marketing sectors, helping them understand how to use compliance monitoring, insights, and data-driven solutions to improve visibility, manage risk, and drive growth.

Professional Journey

What have been some key milestones in your career?

Looking back on my early career, a key milestone for me was securing a role at a Magic Circle law firm, where I had the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced lawyers on complex, high-profile matters, including class actions. This gave me a strong foundation in legal and commercial thinking.

More recently, another significant milestone was establishing the African offices of my then-employer, an experience that was both challenging and eye-opening, broadening my understanding of international markets and business operations.

Finally, I’ve been proud to develop into a consistently high-performing individual contributor, helping drive growth through new business generation and supporting the expansion of the organisations I’ve worked for.

Can you highlight a significant achievement or project at Rightlander.com that you’re proud of?

I’ve consistently hit targets year-on-year and led the end-to-end sales process for one of Rightlander’s largest clients to date. I’ve also contributed to improving parts of our sales process, particularly around prospecting, qualification, and customer engagement.

Day-to-Day Role

What does a typical day look like for you in your role?

No two days are exactly the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role.

The majority of my time is spent engaging with prospective customers, conducting product demonstrations, and progressing enterprise opportunities through to close. I also spend time contributing to product development, researching new markets and industries, and working closely with the Sales Director to refine and improve our sales processes.

Company Vision and Goals

What is your vision for the future of Rightlander.com?

I’d like to see Rightlander continue strengthening its position as a market leader in compliance, brand protection, and monitoring. As digital marketing ecosystems become more complex and regulations continue to evolve, organisations are increasingly seeking automated solutions to reduce manual processes and improve visibility across their online activities. I believe this creates a strong opportunity for Rightlander to expand into new verticals, develop innovative solutions, and help businesses better understand and manage online risk. Ultimately, I’d like to see the company continue to deliver insights that help organisations manage affiliate risk, protect their brand, and drive stronger commercial outcomes across multiple verticals.

What are the key initiatives or goals you’re currently focused on?

My current focus is on supporting the business to achieve its 2026 revenue targets by building on our core customer base and identifying new opportunities in emerging and evolving markets, including developments in regions such as Alberta and Brazil. Alongside this, I’m also working closely with the team to test, refine, and support the launch of our e-commerce proposition in the second half of 2026.

How do you see Rightlander.com evolving over the next few years?

Having established itself as a leading affiliate marketing compliance solution within the iGaming sector, I see Rightlander continuing to expand into new verticals over the next few years. I believe there is a strong opportunity for it to evolve into a true one-stop shop for affiliate marketing growth, discovery, compliance, and intelligence. The goal would be to provide global businesses with a single, streamlined platform that reduces reliance on multiple tools while delivering scalable insights to support both risk management and performance improvement.

Personal Insights

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Do you have any hobbies or interests?

I’ve never appreciated time more than I do now. With a newborn at home, most of my free time currently revolves around family life and taking on the “night shift,” which has been a big adjustment but also very rewarding.

Once things settle down, you’ll find me doing diy projects and getting back into my HIIT training.

Can you share a fun fact or something unexpected about yourself?

I originally attended medical school in the Caribbean before moving back to the UK and completing my law degree. And I’m a black belt in Karate!!

Advice and Inspiration

What motivates you to keep pushing forward in your career?

First and foremost, my greatest motivation is providing for my young family while also being present for them, which I value deeply. Beyond that, I’m motivated by seeing the impact of consistent effort over time and the progress it brings. I also find it rewarding to achieve goals that once felt ambitious or out of reach earlier in my career, and to see how continued learning and persistence can open up new opportunities.

Who or what inspires you in your professional and personal life?

I’m inspired by people who combine drive and ambition with a willingness to support others. I find that being around individuals who hold themselves to high standards and approach their work with consistency and integrity naturally sets the tone for how I want to operate. I also value the idea that how you treat people and the effort you put into helping others have a way of coming back over time, which I strongly believe in.
